GDPR Compliant Privacy Notice

With all new clients as of May 24th 2018 under new the GDPR legislation I am required to inform you of what personal information I may collect that effects your privacy and how that data may be held, stored and used. On our first meeting I will usually gather some background information including: your name and preferred contact info, brief family background, any significant life experience, presenting issue, next of kin and GP. We will discuss this first.

All personal information including notes and confidential contact information is held in a locked cabinet and is not shared. I will usually keep your number on my phone for contact if a need for cancellation arises. If you email me or prefer this mode of contact then this information will be stored on my phone too. I will not use your full name in my contacts.

I attend professional supervision with a therapist with more experience than myself and I may talk about our process together, however I will not disclose any identifiable information ( such as names, addresses, dates of birth etc). My supervision is to ensure safe and ethical practice. I will never pass on your personal information to a third party unless you require me to do so and we have talked it through thoroughly or there is a significant risk to your safety and / or the safety of another. I will discuss this with you first.

From time to time I offer personal development and continuous professional development courses and if you agree I can email you information regarding these. We will discuss all of these matters during our initial sessions.

The information that gather and store is kept to the minimum and is non process oriented you have a right of access to it should you want this. There is a fee of £10 for this as per GDPR guidance .

I abide by the ethical framework of Re-Vision, of which I am a member and the UKCP, with whom I am registered.
